Picky Pair Previews The Chattanooga Bridal Show

{The Picky Pair} just left the Chattanooga Bridal Show - and felt that although it seemed smaller than last year's show, the independant photographers were the standouts. They seem to be on trend with the wedding industry nationwide, with really colorful, artistic shots. We are so excited about using a local photographer for our destination wedding we have planned for early 2010. The fashion show seemed to be a hit with the brides, and there were more actual dresses on display for brides to see. It was avwelcome inspiration from the downpour we're having in Chattanooga right now. A perfect escape for a Sunday afternoon!

California's on my mind today.  My family has been spending a week on the shores of Capitola, California since my sweet Gram was a little girl, and we are so blessed to be headed across the country and reunite, refresh and restore with my {huge extended} family for a week of in July.  There's something about California that I just love, and when I was searching for inspiration tonight, I came across the lovely JL Designs.

Recently JL DESIGNS has been featured on InStyle Weddings.com, and on several popular blogs: Snippet and Ink, The Bride’s CafĂ©Jo My Goodness, D’Lish DesignGreen Wedding Shoes, Southern WeddingsWedding Bee, Flights of Fancy,  Elizabeth Anne DesignsVintage Glam Weddings and Wedding Chicks. Carissa’s work has also been featured in People MagazineInside WeddingsCeleb lifeCeremony Magazine, and a spotlight on her company will be included in the upcoming edition of Bride and Bloom Magazine. Look for this issue in bookstores next week!

Is California calling you, too??

{The Picky Pair} is so excited to be a part of the first Southeast Summertime Social, supporting the Land Trust for Tennesse, and these photos are such a great inspiration for our upcoming event.  The Social will be held at the beautiful Bendabout Farm in Cleveland, Tennesse on Saturday June 20th.  Bluegrass music, a delicious menu composed of all locally grown food by The Blue Plate, cocktails, good company, dancing...all at an amazing location supporting a great local cause!  What a wonderful way to start our summer!

For more information regarding this event and the Land Trust for Tennessee's mission, visit
their web site or call 615.244.LAND.

This fabulous wood sign was made by Lee Dayvault of Maple Drive Workshop, a FANTASTIC company out of Georgia who can create vintage wood signs.  They even have vintage signs from various states, including Montana!  You never know what you'll find online!!

{Perfect Peonies}

{The Picky Pair} has a particular fondness of peonies.
It just so happens that a handful of my peonies are in full bloom with gorgeous, pink full blossoms.  Peonies are without a doubt the most coveted and desired bridal flowers...loved for it's soft, paper thin petals ruffled together to create the most gorgeous blossoms with a heavenly scent.
